Story
The Pasapalli Pink Mug is inspired by the Pasapalli Ikat of Odisha — a grid-based textile distinguished by its checkerboard structure and repeated square motifs. Traditionally woven in deep reds, blacks, and whites, this interpretation reimagines the pattern in a softer palette of pinks, whites, and earthen browns.
Each square is painted individually, echoing the rhythmic resist-dyed blocks found in Pasapalli sarees. The clean cylindrical form draws attention to the grid, allowing the geometry to wrap seamlessly around the mug.
This piece belongs to Tānā Bānā, a collection where textile memories resurface through clay — pattern by pattern, layer by layer.
