Hi there! Let me introduce myself. My name is Gauri Oak, hence the name GOAK Ceramics. I became a full time ceramist in November 2019. After completing a year-long apprenticeship in Bangalore, I launched GOAK Ceramics in February 2021.

I have a cosy and fully equipped home studio in Bangalore which allows me to create freely and teach a small batch of students at a time. I’ve helped hundreds of students start their pottery journey with live as well as recorded hand building workshops.  Given that I’m still new to pottery, everything about it excites me. The physics, chemistry, research and testing behind ceramics feeds the engineer in me. I’m inclined towards hand building and surface decoration techniques with almost a nerd-like curiosity. My pieces will almost always emphasize one technique while downplaying other aspects. Creating beauty is my simple and honest agenda with ceramics.
